This is the park bench at the church across the street. I sometimes sit there with my coffee and watch the parents coming and going to pick up their chidren from daycare. It always brings a smile to my face to see them having such fun.
Every time I walk across the railroad tracks, it reminds me of being a kid and going to the grain elevator where my grandpa worked. We would spend hours playing on the tracks and crawling underneath the trains. Completely dangerous, but fun just the same.
This photo was one of those "happy accidents". I just took the picture in the puddle, and the flash went off (which I didn't want). However, upon getting home and looking at the photo, I noted that the flash picked up on all the rain dropless in the puddle giving a "fairly-like" quality to the water.
I have always loved the big door handles on this shop. It indicates the price point of the clothes inside. I have ventured in a couple of times, but unless I win the Lotto 649, I would never be able to afford anything.
There big beautiful trees line the greenspace, or the Arbutus corridor as it is called in our neighborhood. It is a beautiful place to walk and follow along the old railroad tracks.
In theprocess of taking this photo, I broke one of my red candle holders. You can see one in the photo, it's mate is in a thousand pieces in the garbage now. I'm not sure this is a good enough photo to warrant the tragedy of the loss.
I love the contrast of the soft green moss against the rough greyish bark. Contrary to popular belief, the moss was growing on the west side of this tree and not the north side. The whole tree is a splendid array of this lush greenness, but I couldn't get a good enough picture of the entire tree.
I can imagine each of these little vent covers to be the home of some small creature, like a fairie or an elf. I bet they get up early, before the ice melts and slip and slide all over the roof.
This is a THE clock on our street. Many pictures have been taken of this - I'm sure much better than mine. I hope they remember to "spring it forward" on Sunday!
